.... At least they are if there's anyone dumb enough out there to pay $180 for a piece of rust. I suspect we could all find "rare stalactites" like this lying around, and you don't even need a cave.

The best ebay auction I've seen so far was somebody selling spikes from the Underground Railroad. Don't know if this was supposed to be a bad joke, or was just abysmal ignorance, but these spikes (probably from a mine) "helped the slaves" by "holding down the Underground Railroad". Yikes.

Maybe they would accept a container of "Genuine Iron Horse Excrement" in trade.

The sad part is that LRSA has a depot building that used to sit in Oberlin and was directly related to the famous abolitionists that caused all the flap before the civil war, and it was almost scrapped. Right now it is a hooo-hummm, yawn , big deal!

I saw the title of the thread and thought someone had finally started the $25 all-you-can-drink Go Go bar on rails. Can you see it? The Steamiest Steam Train!

Hume might throw me out for this, but I swear it's a money maker... and please, no N&W hooter, tender-behind, nice caboose comments...

A few slots in a disquised baggage car would also help ... if we could figger out how to get past the three-mile-limit!

Forget the three-mile-limit. Just go to Nevada. The gaming provision of state assembly bill 448, allowing certain games of chance to be conducted on tourist railroads, was passed during the 2001 legislative session. The Nevada Northern Railway Museum only needs the funds to purchase the ROW between McGill Jct. and Shafter, NV on the UP to make a "game train of chance" a reality.

I might get tossed out for this one, but with Nevada's laws on prostitution being what they are, maybe they could put a Pullman into "revenue service."

In Nevada, each county has the option to allow "the oldest profession." That is why a number of establishments are located just over a county line from a county not allowing it.

In the olden days, if you were thirsty in Pennsylania on a Sunday, you waited until the train rolled into New Jersey.
