Everyone,

Could someone out there give me a contact for someone at Spencer Shops?

I am in the planning stages of building an Edwards Rail Car Model 20 in 1/8th scale. I have been told that the Spencer Shops has a car in it's original paint and configuration.

I need to get some measurments on the headlight, bell and probably a few more items. Is there someone at Spencer Shops who can help me get this information?

I would like to replicate in scale a model of the Morehead and North Fork's M-200 "Blue Goose". The car was purchased from Ewards in 1926 and sold to California Western in 1934. In 1965, I have been told her original car body was changed due to a wreck.

I would love to hear the story about the wreck as well for history sake.

Thanks for any information in advance,

JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian

Robin,

Thank you for your reply. Edwards Rail Car has been very helpful already.

The car at Spencer is supposed to have it's original headlight, bell and air whistle. These are some of the special items that will need to be photographed and measured to insure accruacy in the model.

I look forard to building this car. Due to convenience and availabilty of parts already on the market, my version will be powered by two traction motors run off of a couple of deep cell batteries located inside the car.

The Edwards car at NCTM is former Hampton & Branchville M-200, a 1926 Edwards used until November 1951. More at:

You might start here. Spencer has a great staff, both paid and volunteer.

Everyone,

Any of you have some photos of the California Western Skunk Bus M-100 before she was wrecked in 1965?

Thanks,

John Bechtel is right there in the roundhouse, and posts here occasionally. Kelly has been there a long time, and could probably steer you towards the right person also. If the editor of a certain "nationally known magazine" is watching, he could probably give you better advice than me.

Gary,

I am currently waiting for a reply from the certain person you mentioned.

Thanks again for all your help.

By the way, how is that certain Southern 2-8-0 coming along. I hope to see it again soon.

Hmmm, must be some other "certain person". I've seen nothing in my inbox or voice mail.

John,

The other person we were referring to is Jim Wrinn. He has contacted me back channnel.

I have been in contact with Larry Neal via phone already. I will accept and appreciate any and all help with this project.

My goal is to build one as accurately as possible.

I look forward to working with you.
