Does anyone out there have a schedule for the 1936 Rexall Train?

While organizing the negative collection of the roundhouse museum in Sioux City, IA, my father found an image of the train stopping there and he is now searching for the exact date.

Thanks.

If you have access to it or know someone who does, there's a four-page article in the April 1996 issue of Passenger Train Journal on this train. Remind me, and I'll see if I can find my copy and see if it has the schedule you seek. An oh-so-quick Google search indicates the train was in North Carolina in October of that year and moved south towards Florida in November.

A little further on Google and I find we've discussed this before:

I did find those earlier discussions and some other small snippets on the web, but nothing indicating the schedule.

I know there were articles in Passenger Train Journal and also the Terminal Railroad Association Historical and Technical Society magazine. I figured at least one of those pubs would have a schedule, but thought I'd ask here before buying those back issues.

If you can find your issue and confirm the schedule exists, I would appreciate it.

I do have a copy of the publication by the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis Hist. & Tech. Soc., P. O. Box 1688, St. Louis, MO 63188-1688.
The publication is "The Rexall Story" , Issues 55-56 - Summer-Autumn 2000, $10 if still in print. On page 25 the itinerary in the text lists the Quad cities area Oct 3-5, DuBuque Oct 6, and Des Moines Oct 7, 1936. The train was back in Peoria on Oct 9th. The total trip length was 29,000 miles. If you require further Iowa information should it exist, I would suggest contacting Mr. Larry Thomas, editor, at the above address as the train criss-crossed the country more than once. In any event the 43-page volume is on high quality, glossy paper and contains high quality photos. I remember the Liggett Rexall corner drug store in my hometown Waltham Massachusetts and never knew that Rexall with its large facilities in St. Louis originated in the Boston area. - Ted Anderson

John Signor's "Southern Pacific's Coast Line" has a couple of photos of the train in San Francisco taken May 26, 1936.

Thanks for all the info. I'll have to buy some back issues and pursue it from there.

The display location in Akron, Ohio was on the CT&V sub of the B&O (now the unused part of the CVSR) owned by Akron Metro RTA, near the old headquarters of Goodyear. NKP 765 transited that stretch in the 2010s when they ran to Canton.
