The problem with multiple forums is that we already have a small enough pool of contributors and topics; attempting to pigeon-hole them even further runs the risk of creating sub-forums that are visited by a mere five or so people at worst ("Electric Loco nuts and bolts"?). Many, many topics can easily begin as a dissertation on, say, where to get replacement parts for an injector and evolve into a discussion on the merits or lack thereof of Chinese-import steam parts, and then FRA regs. And far too many potential posts would defy neat categorization; is a note on a WP dome car for sale under "Preservation", "For Sale", or "General"? If I discuss where the car has been between 1971 and now, have I just descended into "Nostalgia"?

One potentially practical suggestion for a future RyPN model: A "FAQ" section where endlessly-rehashed topics--1361, the D&H Baldwin Sharks, the Alco PAs, "where is [steam loco] today?", etc.--can be neatly summarized in edited, non-inflammatory prose in pitiful hopes of heading off at least some of the round-and-round-we-go-and-nothing-gets-anywhere debates. In addition, a quick-reference page with links to preserved steam rosters, preserved diesel rosters, preserved electric car rosters, preserved caboose rosters, databases of existing stations and towers........... wait a minute, why do those have to be elsewhere? Why can't they be PART of RyPN and hosted HERE????

Vintage Photo of the Week, edited by Yarger? By all means! It could also lend itself to occasional "Then and Now" contributions, etc.
