Preston Cook did a session on diesel locomotive maintenance at ARM 2007. Maybe he could repeat it. I couldn't attend as I was talking about sprinkler systems & substations at the same time.

We have had meetings on modern steam technology at both TRAIN conventions and at the Grand Canyon Railway. I would think that a similar group gathering could be held one evening as there is some new material to discuss. I would be willing to ask Mr. Bane and Mr. Day if they would like me to present some of their work. I think the best format might be to have technical papers available, some short presentations, and plenty of time for networking and discussion.

I must have missed something...How is the topic of 'Modern Steam' both relevant and topical to a broad segment of operations ?

Seems to me that 'Diesel Locomotive Fuel Conservation' might have some impact on many different balance sheets.

Yeah, I know-diesel went down a few pennies this week.
