At the link below are three photos of the Black Diamond loco. The oldest shows it shortly after its 1949 arrival. The next shows it with the first shelter built over it about 1951 and after a repainting which did not include relettering it. The color shot shows it as it is now with the second shelter placed over about 1961 after a move. The bigger train shed was put up in 1981. So its roof has been protected for fifty years and it hasn't seen rain or snow since 1981. Given the resources available at the time we think the folks here did pretty well by the loco. A cleaning, repainting and lettering, and polishing of the interior will be what this little loco needs before going into our new visitor center when it is built.

The 4th photo is a rear shot of the Rock Island plow which shows the number 2575 in Feb 2001, although you can't see the last figure under the box. The repainting has since been finished with the number redone and a sign will explain it. Can anyone provide a photo of loco #2575 for us to use on the sign?
