I'm sure you're aware as much as me that it is far easier to shed a tear than it is to pick up a wrench (or tool of your trade) or to simply be grateful.

As a lover of Canadian steam, I must say these folks did a splendid job on CNR 2141's cosmetics. Now we just need for the Strasburg folks to do the same thing with 0-6-0 31, 2-6-0 89 and Middletown & Hummelstown with 2-6-0 91. I commend Conway Scenic for doing the authentic CNR livery on 7470.

I can dream, can't I?

I was in Kamloops in 1976 and saw the locomotive sitting static in the park at that time. She was in good shape then, and I recall telling my hosts that it was a shame to leave her outdoors while she appeared restorable. The folks at Kamloops have made us proud! There is hope for every park locomotive as long as responsible people are in charge. Great job! Run her for years, safely, and with pride!

We were extremely lucky that the Kamloops climate is quite dry. Nothing was seized, and rust was a minor problem. If we had our own track to run on, and didn't have to meet the Federal code, we could have had her operational with about 1/4 the funds, and 1/2 the time. But alas!

Thanks for the praise!
