It's hard for me to believe I saw this engine in excursion service back in the mid '60's when I was a kid and now it looks like this. It doesn't seem that long ago.

Excellent update Joe! Do you know what condition your stoker engine is in?

Last month I climbed into the stoker compartment and pulled out the dip stick from the crank case and it was bone dry, but hopefully some oil stuck to the bright metal and kept it from rusting. The compartment in general looks good, with little rust.

One of these days, I'll have to climb up and remove the cover and have a look inside and maybe add some oil.

Did you get any pics of the stoker engine? Our access door is tack welded shut at the moment.

I saw the pics of the stoker compartment, but I didn't see any of the engine?

Joe, there should be a hatch on the fireman's side of the tender that houses the stoker motor. If it is like the CNR Hudsons, which were also MLW built, it should be about 3' x 3'.
