Our newsletter carries the name "Tarheel Telegrapher." It seems rather appropriate for the publication of a North Carolina organization.

Richard -

Since you asked, the name of our museums newsletter is....NOTHING! That's right, our newsletter has never had a name. When I was the Assistant Editor, I once suggested we give it a name, but was met with.......silence! So, there it stands. Since you asked the question.

James Hefner's discovery of the website for the FEC 253 restoration group also disclosed that their newsletter is titled, "The High Iron".

The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum's monthly newsletter is the "HOT SCOOP." And, we have a glossier, once-in-a-while publication, the "REPORT."

For some strange reason, a lot of the museums are quiet on this simple request, so I thought I'd add a few others that I know of:

Fox River Trolley Museum's "Fox River Lines"
20th Century Railroad Club's "The Fast Mail"
Illinois Railway Museum's "Rail & Wire"
Whitewater Valley Railroad's "Towpath Tracks"
Monticello Railway Museum's "Yella Board"
The Mad River & NKP Railroad Society's "The Caboose Cable"

One I forgot about, largely because it's no longer used, was the old name for the Ohio Association of RR Passenger's newsletter, "The 6:53", named for the Association's PO box number at the time. This might lead to a regular stream of photos of equipment with the number used in the title, like photos in Trains Magazine of things with their old 1027 address on them.

Since your area is on or near the James River, maybe something like "James River Flyer", "Limited", "Peddler", etc. might do. Same for the Rappahannock or Shenandoah.

The City staff at the Travel Town Museum in Los Angeles used to publish the "Green Eye", but the office that used to do it is currently vacant.

The Travel Town Museum Foundation publishes the "The Tender"

The Los Angeles Live Steamers down the street publishes the The "Engine Booster"

The SCSRA used to publish the "Headlight" but now has merged their newsletter with the Fullerton Railway Plaza Assn. and call it the "Hotrail"

Just to follow-up, the new name we selected for The Western Virginia Railroad Preservation Society's newsletter is the Journal Box. We'll have the first issue posted on our website http://www.wvrps.org in the coming days.
