Sloan,

This engine will be restored as closely as possible to its configuration when it served the Morehead and North Fork Railroad.

I have been trying to help with the restoration via history and photos to help aid in the rebuild. One thing in particular is that a cross compound air pump will be re installed. They also put a flange back on the the center driver that had been removed when it served on the sharp curves at Tombstone Junction between 1968 and 1989.

The new tank does look very nice as the old one was very tired.

Currently, the good folks down there are waiting for more funding to finish the project.

It seems as if the good folks at the Big South Fork Scenic Railway have been waiting since about 2004 for more funding. Has this program pretty much stalled?

I do not know what the current status is on the finances but I do know that work continues even though the website has not be updated for awhile.
