Since the passing of Mr. George Hart there has been speculation on the future of the railroad. For the record, although Mr. Hart owned a large block of Stewartstown Railroad Company stock, his holdings were not a majority of the shares outstanding. Please note that the executor of Mr. Hart's estate, Mr. Willever, does not have authority to conduct business on behalf of the Stewartstown Railroad Company. That authority is vested in the railroad's board of directors in accordance with the company's charter, by-laws and corporation laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Please direct all correspondence and inquiries regarding the Stewartstown Railroad Company to the company at P.O. Box 155, Stewartstown, PA 17363. The railroad's president, Mr. David M. Williamson, can be called at (989) 695-6881.

Cordially,
Raymond E. Reter
Director-at-Large, The Stewartstown Railroad Company
Vice President/Secretary, Friends of the Stewartstown Railroad, Inc.

What is the stock ticker symbol? What exchange? Does the company sell stock direct?

The shares of the Stewartstown Railroad Company are owned by a small group of about 50 people. While many of these folks are descendants of the original investors (from 1884), some shares have ended-up outside the "core group" as a result of estate sales over the years. -- Ray

Thanks for sharing this information. A lot of people are pulling for the little Stewartstown to pull through.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
