We are looking for ideas as to how to install a 26 brake valve in a covered wagon. Does anybody have any cab pictures showing a 26 brake valve in a E or F unit?

The F7 unit was CF7 as convent to 24-RL .
The Book call ( CF7 Locomotives: From Cleburne To Everywhere by Cary F. Poole )
has is it the standard detail of the 24L (2 page)and CF7 electrical simple type (5 page)

Suspect that the loco in the first photo is a GMD (Canadian) unit and was built with the control stand as shown. A relatively simple fabrication could provide a location for the 26C next to the stand.

The second photo shows an EMD 'AAR' stype stand that was substituted for the original equipment. Seems like kind of a big job...with little benefit for a museum outfit.

A 'cheap and dirty' way to solve the problem is to build a new mounting pedestal for the 26C that would replace the original 24RL ? equipment. This would leave the automatic brake valve convenient to the operators' right hand. The pedestal could either be free-standing or mounted on the bulkhead. This has been done on the various iterations of re-man'ed FL-9's.
