From the Cog website: "The owners and staff of The Mount Washington Cog Railway cordially invite you to join Governor John H. Lynch and Dr. Susan E. Lynch for the dedication of the Cog's First Biodiesel Locomotive"

All this hoopla on over their "first biodiesel locomotive?" What ever happened to the biodiesel-fired steam locomotive Nigel Day rolled out a year or two ago? How 'come that never headlined?! It would have been interesting to get the 411 on that one, especially for those of us who have personally fired on bio -- with a conventional oil firing arrangement -- and are really curious to know how that ingenious looking setup worked for them...

In keeping with the Native American names of many of their other engines, I did a little poking around on some Abenaki language websites. Couldn't find a direct translation for "ugly beast" or "breaker of tradition", but I thought these were pretty good...

Madjahando (evil power)
Chibaginoguat (looks very bad)
Moospegdi (moose fart)

I actually laughed out loud! That is just about perfect!
Now I have to learn how to pronounce that properly - surprisingly that name fits my boss very well also :)
Looks like I need to get back to New Hampshire before the whole place is full of moose farts...
