Said to be in Wallingford, Connecticut. Who knows more about this one?

Well, I was told that it is originally Philadelphia and Reading by way of Belfast and Moosehead Lake. It's a neat car. attached to the building but doesn't look like it was damaged badly, most of the cars roof has another roof over it so that protects it nicely. All in all its in pretty decent shape.

Looks like this car has been discussed a few times over the years. A friend of mine sent me some pictures of the car as it sits today. The Yankee Silversmith Inn has been torn down leaving the car by itself. It has a for sale sign on it now. The pictures were as of 8 September 2008.

Interesting, there is an article in the Flimsies about it very recently. Some good discussion, but it ends with the old time railroader saying it will never move again and advocating its scrapping. More of that cultural negativity I guess, and I would like a second opinion. Who will save it? Naugatuck? Danbury? Downeast Scenic? Strasburg?

That's Dave Peters sitting on the car steps. He's a retired NH-PC-AMTK air brake man, and quite a preservationist in his own right (smaller artifacts and such).

No, RMNE-NAUG will not be going after this one-- it's an RDG car (no real connection to New England) and we simply have way too much else on our plate now.

Wasn't this on of the 'original' passgner cars on the Black River & Western?

Yes, that was one of the original Black River cars. I believe it went up to CT in the late '60s or maybe early '70s.
