I was just sent this video through Youtube.com, It's of Lackawanna 565 & 304 on the Dansville & Mt. Morris railroad, I don't know of this railroad. where was it located?

That's the right tender. You can see the historic dent on the fireman's side in one of the runby shots.

The tender was modified in the mid 1970s to hold an oil bunker, as the owner at that time wanted the engine to burn oil not coal as a matter of convenience. The higher sides were added to hide the oil bunker. You can see the difference in the material at the weld line. I worked for the contractor, Menair Fetzer Corporation at that time, the restoration went unfinished when the owner stopped paying the bills. The crossheads which remain missing to this day were "held" by the machine shop in lower Bucks county for the same reason.

If you look at the back on the runby it has long, I want say like truck mud flaps, metal plates on the back of tender. They are not there anymore. Along with the snow plow.

Mike, we are looking at taking the oil bunker out not sure yet. Can you give me any more details on where some of the parts ended up? I know this is the dumb question but does that machine shop still exist?
Any help would be great!

It looks like Mr. John Simon's video has stirred the pot up some, lol.
It was a great fined in the box lot of 16mm. films he bought on e-bay.

I hope Mike can help me out. Those crossheads and the radius arm and equalizer are the big pieces I need to try and find. I'm still trying to make contact with New Hope& Ivyland. I really do not think a machine shop would hold on to something for this long but hey you never know until you ask!!!!!

I sent him a e-mail but nothing yet. Thanks again. It's slow going at first with restoration but I think we should get moving hopefully soon. I contacted the Erie Lackawanna historical society too. They are looking for prints/diagrams/blueprints.

I wish I could help you on that one, I have blue prints of locomotives, but not of the Lackawanna sorry. Mined are all on the Reading Company.

I'm trying to get two teams up on the 23 of Dec and 30 Dec. Not sure which day I'm going up. I may go both days. We are working out the details this week. I will let you know. Now that we have some pics we are going to finish looking for more parts and Dave Crosby gave me a lead on a couple of spots to check up there.

If you're thinking the NH&I has the crossheads, I'd say you're prolly wasting time trying to contact them. If the current management did in fact have them or had them, I'm quite sure they would have been returned by now. If I'm not mistaken, there was an outside contractor doing the work on the 565 using the NH&I's shop facility. I don't think there was any other connection than that. Just like the 148 was worked on there, using outside contractors.
