I found this site (link provided below) of a Marion steam shovel located in Clarence, New York. The ninth shovel listed on the page really grabbed my attention. Apparently it was a rail mounted shovel that was converted to crawler tracks. The caption seems to infer that the shovel is sitting derelict and is not currently preserved. I do know that the Central New York Chapter of the NRHS acquired an 0-4-0 that was sitting next to this shovel a couple of years ago, and this got me thinking that this shovel might be available for preservation. I would like to find out if that is the case. Is anyone familiar with this shovel or it current status?
