Does anyone have access to a 15" square American Railway Express porcelain enamel sign? This is NOT Railway Express Agency that was a successor company. We want to replicate this sign as part of a car restoration project. We would like to get an accurate copy made of the sign.

As I recall, the railway express business owned by American Railway Express was sold off to the railroads as the Railway Express Company. The American Railway Express was renamed to become the American Express Company of credit card fame.

During World War I / USRA era the various express companies were forced to combine into one operation that covered all the railroads. Prior to that different railroad companies contracted with different express companies -- American, Wells Fargo, Adams, etc.
