A pioneer in the railway preservation field has passed--J. Huber Leath, the former V.P.-Chief Mechanical Officer of the Strasburg RR from 1963-1986, passed away yesterday morning, Dec. 16, from a prolonged illness. Many of you may know him as one of the founders and former president of TRAIN, the Tourist Railway Association. He was one of the 24 original investors in the Strasburg and owned ex-Reading business car No. 10 from 1965-2001. Huber was also the last of the original investors who served on the Strasburg RR board until the last few years.

Kurt,

Thanks for sharing this sad news. He was certainly a major figure in preservation.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
