FEC 0-8-0 #253

Does anyone know if the restoration on #253 is still ongoing? The website for the group working on her seems to be defunct.

I did a quick google search and did not find anything. They seemed to be making some real progress and then they are off the radar.

That site is outdated and the email address bounces. These folks seem to have vanished from the web. Of course maybe they are so busy putting in tubes and staybolts they don't have time to fool around with computers.

They must be still active, they got a $48,000 grant in 2008 for restoration work

Well, that is certainly good. But does anyone know if this was an outright grant, or did (does) the organization have to come up with some type of matching funds?

The group is working on relocating the loco to Fort Pierce, Fla. and have run into numerous delays. Once the get situated, we will travel down there, weld in the throat sheet section they have prepared, and drive mudring rivets for them.
