It seems that steam locomotives were dumped offshore to prevent erosion. Now they are dredging them up. There seems to be most of a locomotive and a lot of parts and someone is trying to make something out of them. Check out the photo, it needs a lot of TLC.

We're restoring a Baldwin 2-6-2 here in Wellington New Zealand that was dumped for river protection in the South Island. This engine is being worked on by a small team of younger guys and the tender chassis is almost complete.

Thanks for the information and best of everything toward your efforts. I think you Kiwi are the only ones I've ever heard of so ambitious with steam to pull them out of a riverbank or seabed.
