Can't see what else I can do with these...........

Someone donated to us what appears to have been three separate copies of the 1941 Locomotive Cyclopedia, all completely fallen apart from overuse and put into binders or just piles. After assembling one complete set for abusive reference use and one incomplete set for my own shelf, I have various pages left over--examples are pages 65-96 (Piston-Z of the Dictionary), 101-132 (Steam Locos up to 2-8-0), 165-196 (Articulateds, Canadian, streamlined passenger), 229-324 (4-8-4's through boiler design finishing with firebrick arch design), etc. though pages 1063-1078 (export locos).

Anyone got a good use for them? I want working use or reference, not selling as collectibles. Live steamers could probably benefit, too, from some of the exploded views.......

Could these (or any other for that matter) pages be scanned, and made available online for reference, for example as .pdf files ?

This got me interested. I checkeed google books and found there is no Loco Cyclopedia in full view but I did indeed find a large number of old out of print reference books on locomotives.

Go to: books.google.com

type in locomotive and you will see many books are listed as "full view", I'm sure in a few years there will be hundreds more.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.
