Could this be a private collection that has not appeared on the railway/streetcar preservation radar?

According to Preserved North American Electric Railway Cars, there is or was a collection of thirteen Pittsburgh, West Penn and Philadelphia trolley cars listed under "Private Owner--Uniontown PA". According to the entry "two are in an open-ended barn, one is under restoration". No information in Andrew D. Young's Veteran and Vintage Transit. If this museum has indeed "folded", this could mean another batch of streetcars and work cars looking for a new home.

I just drove past these on my way out and back from the NRHS convention in Duluth. They're visible to the North side of I 80 right by the Uniontown exit. Didn't take note of the buildings, but there seemed to be about a dozen Septa (?) liveried cars in a field.

Seems to be no shortage of dead PCC's around. If there was ever an award for the "Most Over Collected Item" they'd have my nomination!

The PCCs on the north side of I80 are part of the Brookville Equipment Corporation deal with Septa, they have overhauled and modernized quite a few PCCs for the city of Philadelphia. They also build diesel locomotives. http://www.brookvilleequipment.com/
The Uniontown in the article is on US40, about 20 miles north of West Virginia.

Ah, see, that's what I get for driving through there at 4am with no sleep.... Uniondale, Brookeville.....

Expect to see more PCC's at Brookville in the next few months. They just made a deal with the City and County of San Francisco to: Overhaul four Muni double-end PCC's (1006, 1008, 1009 and 1011)
Overhaul Muni 1040, the "last PCC".
Rewire the ex-Newark PCC's (1070-1080). Note that these cars have already had considerable body work, and are painted in different color schemes representing cities where PCC's ran. Don't be surprised to see an LA Transit Lines "fruit salad" paint job in PA (or on the road).
I believe they have already started restoration work on Muni #1, the 1912 Holman car that was there on "Day one".

I don't know about a museum in hopwood, but the 13 cars that are in the
"private collection" are still there near uniontown pa. the owner is a regular rider on the fayette central rr in uniontown. We took a tour of his place last year, he has alot
more than streetcars, alot of the stuff is in bad shape. The owner had plans of a museum but never got it done.
