Last Saturday, September 26, 2009, my better half & I visited the Tioga Central. We chose the 5:00 Sunset Limited, and added the Octoberfest themed dinner. The dinner was advertised as follows:

Power was RS-1 No. 62;

Stuffed Pork Chop

Bratwurst and Sauerkraut

Perogies and Baked Beans

Choice of Dessert

Beer & Wine Priced Separately

The ride was pleasant, the right speed to enjoy the 44 mile round trip. The porkchop was tender and juicy, the cornmeal based stuffing was a hit with us and folks around us. The brats & saurkraut were tasty, and the pierogis were served with a coarse mustard (my ancestors bathed them in butter, but I'll try anything and I suspect the mustard was better for the ticker anyway). Portions were good and desserts were a choice between a home made maple pecan pie and chocolate cheesecake.

At the end of the meal, Chef Mosher of the Coach Stop Inn stopped to ask our questions about the stuffing and spent some time answering some younger riders questions. Since the young ones weren't mine, I've obscured their faces.

Also chatting with passengers were the GM (didn't catch his name) and Mr. Myles.

It appears that after TC's near-death experience a while back-its a viable enterprise. Despite the cold rainy night there were plenty of passengers.

Of course, the IMPORTANT question:

What beers were offered? Can I hold out hope that they had Erie Railbender on board? <:-)

Alexander, we brought our own 375ml bottle of wine, I didn't pay much attention, however since it was in cans, I'm thinking mass market stuff.

PS, can one still get Oxford Raspberry in Balt?
