Several pan views of the exterior and interior of the big--city depot most likely the worst lost cause in rail preservation this century: Detroit's looming, majestic, Beaux-Arts monument, the 1913-built Michigan Central terminal, now abandoned and crumbling badly, abandoned by Amtrak in 1988, owned by the private Detroit International Bridge Co. since 1996:

Thanks to movie magic, the Michigan Central Depot was magically relocated to "Mission City," fictitiously 22miles north of the Hoover Dam, for the movie "Transformers."
