Thanks for jogging my memory. Back in 1969 or 70 two friends and I made a trip on the UP from LA to Green River on a weekend excursion fair. While there on the Saturday between the eastbound and westbound "City of Everywhere" train we went over to the roundhouse and walked inside and I seem to recall the locomotive being there. Could be wrong -- there were some interesting stuff in the house.

5511 was in Cheyenne when I last visited there in 1975.

What's the story on the rotary shown stored indoors in the pictures?

The indoor rotary is being serviced for possible service this winter. I am uncertain about the rotary on the scrap line.

Rotary 900082 has always been kept in the roundhouse, Its there newest one, and still runs. The one outside is also still operable. It was the Roseville backup for the SP ones for awhile, but never used out there.
