This came through on my Flickr feed. It appears to be a mainline photo freight with two on the front and one pushing on the rear. Pretty amazing! be sure to check out the others in the set.

The captions and photographer are Dutch, not German, though I don't know if the event happened in Germany or the Netherlands.........

I can't read Dutch very well, but Dutch is fairly close to German so I think I understand what's going on (I spent 3 years in Germany in the early 1990s).

This is a photo of a "plandampf" event organized by two fellows Herrn Lohr and Riedel, of a sonder guterzug (special freight train) that was operated between Eisenach and Meiningen on 10-24-09. This is in the former East Germany. It appears that two of the locos are DRB class 41 2-8-2s and with the other loco being a class 52 2-10-0 "Kriegslok." I can't tell from the photo or caption which loco is which.

The locos come from the Bavarian Railway Museum in Nordlingen (41-1150) and the IGE Werra-Eisenach society (41-1144) near as I can tell. I'm not sure who "owns" 52-8079.

That's all I know, but it does make for a beautiful photo and operation, eh?

Oh, and if you love steam take a few moments to view the complete slide show. It's worth your time. The photos brought mist to my eyes--wished I coulda been there!
