Does anyone one know what became of the narrow gauge 4-6-0 or 2-8-0 ( I never got close enough to see what it was) That used to be in someones yard off the I-215 around Scott Road between Sun City and Temecula My past few trips down there I havent seen it I beleive it may be from a Mexican or Central American railroad

It was moved up to the Keizer Station shopping center at Salem, Oregon.

Interestingly enough, there are two photos in a post at over at Trainorders.com within the last few days...

It is stripped, not equipped, but is a handsome little 10-wheeler. Any idea what gauge?

Looks like I partially answered my question According to steamlocomotive.com It is 3 foot gauge built by Baldwin serial number 24252 1904 as number 2438 for Ferrocarrill Coahuilla y Zacatecas in Mexico came to California in the 70s as a restaurant display piece

Not quite right. The 4-6-0 and two 2-8-0s came to Southern California for a proposed and never built steam tourist operation. Also included were some CyZ cabooses and freight cars and UdeY coaches. All of this equipment was stored in Puddingstone Park crosss the road from the La Vern airfield near the Pomona fair grounds. There was a Pacific Rail News issue telling about the equipment's arrival (I'm away from home this evening). This project failed to develop.

The locomotives went to the "loose caboose restaurants." One in Pasadena, one in Claremont (the 4-6-0) and one in either Anaheim or Orange. Then when the restaurants failed the locomotives were scattered. Off the top of my head, One of the 2-8-0s went to Colorado and Palmer Lake; and I think the other spent time back in Iowa at the steam operation at Old Thrashers.

The cars likewise went in different directions. At one time some were stored at Chino, CA airport. A good number ended up on the Huckleberry in Flint, Michigan.
