 Post subject: ALCO PB on ski train

Anyone know whats happened to the ALCO B unit from the old Denver ski train? did it go to algoma with the rest of the train?

I thought that the PB was cut up before the cab units were brought back from Mexico.

There were two ex-PB steam generator cars owned by D&RGW: #252 and #253. #253 was the one fitted with Blomberg trucks by Rio Grande in about 1980, and later converted to an HEP generator for The Ski Train. According to Don Strack's Utahrails.net website, #253 was sold to Algoma Central (CN) in 2006 with the rest of the Ski Train equipment. #252 was apparently sold for scrap in 1991, having never been modified from its steam generator role. (It's too bad #252 wasn't saved. I wonder if she still had her A-1-A trucks upon scrapping.)
