Several engines were sent to Ft Eustis, VA for target practice. One was I think a K&T engine, another a former German locomotive that had been captured.

Just being curious, but what tender is directly infront of 4501's old tender?

That looks to be the old rusted out tender from K&T #10, or sometimes known at Southern 6910, or maybe one day to be known NC&StL 620...depends who you talk with. :)
