20 years restoring Diesel passenger trains in England, then an abortive attempt to save a 100 year old SP depot in Tucson, then moved to Cheyenne and got hold of the DT&FW Pullman car 45.

Hello folks new guy here, and to answer the question;well non really, I give money when I can, usually enjoy TVRM as often as I can get out there. But I'm not actively involved in preservation other then the afore mention monetary donation. Live in Alabama, and unfortunately my humble abode is not close to any organization. Heart of Dixie is about 90 miles from me. Back in the day I worked many an hour on NS extra board running freight on the AGS as a conductor. Great Grandfather was a fireman on the New York New Haven and Hartford a loooong time ago. Always been a railroad buff and I quess I will continue to support rail preservation in any way I can.

I have been associated with the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor (Warehouse Point), CT for the past 4 years working in the shop, doing anything needed.

I have also been tracking down remains of the trolley lines that ran in and around Worcester MA.

And I model in 1/24th scale on "G" scale track, trolleys from the same area.

I started off at the New Hope Valley Railway in Bonsal, NC back in 1987 when I was 14 or so. Stayed there until leaving for college.
In 1993 and '94 spent time volunteering and then working on the NS steam program. As a kid, I grew up riding the trains and to this day, still feel very lucky to be able to be involved with it a short time. After the shutdown, I went back to school and spent a couple of years at the GSMR firing, fixing, car hosting and the such.
In 1998, I started 2 1/2 years with NS on the ground and then running. Got tired of living in a hotel and was done with trains.
As we all know, you are never really done. Started going back to NHVRY in 2007 just before we hosted Flagg Coal #75 and met Mike MacLean (posted above). Have been going ever since and Mike even says I am the Assistant Manager - Steam Operations even though I have yet to get a business card saying so. We have a great program going with a great crew and hope to keep building it.

I have no affiliation. I was for a time the moderator of the Chaski Railfan forum, but no longer. An altercation with a well known individual made that endeavor not worth the trouble. I also attempted to volunteer with the 1361 restoration at Steamtown before it ground to a halt, but I couldn't get anyone to return my calls or emails. If the rumor about the N.C.&St.L. 4-8-4 currently on display in Centennial Park in Nashville ever evolve into something other than rumors, I would likely volunteer some time simply because its local to me.
