All of that had been done. Frankfort City Council members unanimously approved a request from the Frankfort-Midwest Rail Heritage Trust, to apply for a community development block planning grant. Some city officials are starting to warm up to the idea.

Just a brief update on the Frankfort Roundhouse.

Last month a application was submitted for a grant of $50,000 for a feasibility study on the Frankfort Roundhouse. I am happy to say that this grant has been approved. It is a start in the right direction.

Also, I would like to set the record straight from a previous post of mine. I stated that the Frankfort Mid-West Heritage Trust group had a lease agreement with N&S for the Roundhouse. Actually they have a lease agreement on the yard office which is next to the Roundhouse. They are still working on getting the Roundhouse property donated by N&S. In the mean time they have hired an architect company to start working on the feasibility study and assessing the Roundhouse property. From my understanding, this company will help pick up the ball and run with it to get things happening.
