The "New" Saga of #89

On The Strasburg Railroad Fan Page on Facebook, someone had posted a comment regarding the sale of Engine #89. He said he was at the RR this past weekend and said there was a For Sale sign in the cab window.
Is there any truth to this at all, was it stuck there momentarily or is someone just playing a cruel joke?

Granted, she is the weakest engine in the fleet as it stands, but she is a remarkably beautiful machine. If they are looking to let her go, WHY?!

C'mon, do you seriously think they would do that, let alone by putting a "For Sale" sign in the Cab window, like some junker auto?

I mean seriously, the people at the SRR are smart enough to know that Craigslist is a much better starting point for selling a loco, right behind Ebay.

I saw it out on the front lawn at SRR with a for sale sign, right beside the riding lawnmower and boat that they are also selling.

I really hope this is not a serious topic.

Do we really think the world's premier tourist railroad would place a "For Sale" sign in the cab of an engine to seriosley sell it. I think someone took a joke a little to seriosusly.

That's pretty much what I thought...someone in the backshop playing a trick and TRYING to be funny.
Just wanted to verify it, that's all.

I think it was fairly funny, especially since somebody believed it. We are in the month of April you know.

This thread makes me wonder if economist Bryan Caplan's book-"The Myth of the Rational Voter" , could be rewritten about consciousness amongst railfans.
