For those interested, the Preserved North American Electric Railway Cars (PNAERC) site at http://www.bera.org/pnaerc.html has been updated. This update reflects the notable changes in traction preservation that have occurred over the past 16 months, most notably the dissemination of the Trolleyville collection. Please contact me with any additions or corrections; thanks!

I would like to thank Frank and Jeff for the ongoing work they have done with this database. It is a remarkable thing. We also have databases of steam locomotives. It would be nice to have a similar sort of thing for every category of popular rail equipment... passenger cars, cabooses, 1st Generation diesels, narrow gauge, and so on.

I now need to find out what has changed since your last edition. You don't provide a list! Well I guess I will start with the letter A and go on from there to see if I notice anything... :P

Thanks for the notification. I was wondering when the revision would be finished. I would guess that this is the biggest update in a long time. (like, since the database was started?) Thank you for "keeping track" of all the streetcars, interurbans, freight motors and work cars out there. PNAERC is a resource I use often.

Roger Kirkpatrick has been maintaining a list of captive cabeese for quite some time now. He freely shares chunks of his list with whomever asks; and I believe makes the entire database available in the form of a book.

He is also an occassional visitor here; so hopefully he will chime in with more.

I have also seen lists of surviving rotary snow plows and steam cranes. There may be others out there.
