Bob- Thank you for bringing back some great memories of the Museum in Seljuk Turkey. Actually its in Cemlik, which means Pine Grove, a apt description for this little village atop a slight summit. The site has a small cut-stone engine house and a wye. Seljuk is a dozen miles and two tunnels to the northeast and is the station stop for Efis or Ephesus, the ruins of which are the second most popular tourist destination in Turkey. TCDD Region 4 headquartered in Ismir had glossy flyers printed for a heritage train known as the Efes Expressi printed, but I don't know if it ran as such. Ten years ago I rented a Stephenson locomotive and three cars for the run from Ismir to Cemlik. It included the private car of Turkey's first president, an 1918 two-axle coach built in Germany and a more modern coach. All this for the four members of my family. the day outing cost $428 which included beverages, snacks, lunch at a kabob restaurant, museum admissions and services of an interperater. There is also a railroad museum in Ankara at the main rail station and a large number of locomotives are displayed at depots around the nation

Any of those American-built Vulcan 2-10-0's preserved in Turkey? Wish we could bring one back to the States.

I mentioned the Skyliners some time back. One (56375) is in the museum at Ankara, another (56337) is in a museum in Camlik.

Five others are still held by the Turkish State Railway. One was operational at least until a couple of years ago; the others were then listed as "Stored, awaiting scrap".

I think we'd all be interested in photos and information on the Ankara museum as well, if anyone can share them.
