Can someone please point me to the link on the private backyard steam railroad that was lost in a Southern California fire in the 1950's or 1960's?

I saw a link on this in the past few weeks, but can not locate it. I have someone who is in the family that used to own the line and would like to find one of the locomotives.

Thanks.

Martin

Robert Day was one of those early southern California railfans from a golden time. There obviously was a lot of overlap between the Disney staff, live steamers, publishers, railfan clubs, and people who saved equipment. I like to think of the book Fiddletown and Copperopolis as an unofficial documentation of railfan experiences on moribund western railroads of the 1930s and 40s. I wonder sometimes if caricatures of these people can be seen in cartoonist Fallberg's pages.

There was a recent write-up by Mel Farrell in Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette as part of his series on 30" gauge lines.
