On May 8, 2010, the O. Winston Link Museum and The Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia invite railfans and families from all over the world to attend a now yearly celebration of railroad heritage. The Link Museum will feature the famed

J Class locomotive 611, a historic paint scheme Southern Unit 4610, railroad memorabilia and activities, model trains, railroad photography, spike driving demonstration, slide shows and presentations in the theater, children's activities and more. The Virginia Museum of Transportation will feature railroad motorcar rides, antique model trains, and children's activities.

Admission to the Link Museum events is $5, or $4 if you bring a canned good to donate to the Southwest Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank.

An optional joint ticket is $12 for the Link Museum and the Transportation Museum PLUS the C&O Heritage Center's festival in Clifton Forge on May 8. http://www.cohs.org
