407 arrived safely at Mt. Tremper late in the afternoon of 5/6/10.

The 407 headed up from Staten Island early Wednesday morning.

Around mid-day we learned that the engine was in Newburgh and needed to have the weight shifted and re-weighed. Earl sped to Newburgh, as well as Al Schoessow, John Patane, Joe Logiudice, Steve Gollow, and Kevin Kesick.

On May 7th, Earl led a large crew who helped unload the engine with help from the trucker, Staten Island Towing, and the Crane Operator, Costanza Crane. The crew included Mike LaLonde, Ernie Klopping, Joe Marsh, John Patane, Ed Winstanley, Ron Epstein, Mark Glaser, Tom Healy, Blaise Schatzel, Dave Mason, Paul Hintz and Harry Jameson, plus many onlookers like myself. Caboose 643 was also unloaded.

On Saturday May 8th, we had four crews working.

The 702 crew included Al Johnson, Ed Palmatier and Bill Kaba. They dismantled shelving in the boxcar, and worked on the bathroom and celestory windows in the 702.

Joe Klapkowski and John Prestopino painted the trucks on CMRR flat 202.

George Peck, Derek Stapleton, Mike Adsit and Peter Fluchere worked near Phoenicia yard. They repaired the west end switch, did ditching with the gradall and took out the ballast regulator as well.

In Mt. Tremper, Earl headed a crew including Al Schoessow, Mark Glaser, Bob Blake, Paul Hintz, Tom Healy, Dick Wilhelm, Steve Gollow, Harry Jameson, Burr Hubbell, Mike LaLonde, Paul Sternitzke, John Patane and many more.

Saturday, May 15th

On Saturday, we will have 4 crews working out of Phoenicia, all working on preparing for opening day on the west end, May 29th.

The 702 crew will be working on Coach 702 starting at 10am.

George Peck plans to lead a crew to make track repairs at 23.3 with the tamper, gradall and worktrain. They plan to leave Phoenicia yard by 9am.

Joe Marsh will be continuing work on the hi-rail dump truck starting at 10am.

Earl Pardini will lead a crew completing work on the roof at Mt. Tremper station. If time permits, he plans to continue tearing down the trailer in the Phoenicia yard. He plans to start at 9am. We will also be doing a general cleanup of Mt. Tremper, so please bring any landscaping or brush cutting equipment that will help us make the station area look appealing to our customers.

No work crews will be working out of Kingston Saturday.

Sunday, May 16th.

George Peck plans to continue repairs at 23.3 on Sunday. He plans to leave Phoenicia yard with the tamper, gradall and work train about 9:30am.

Earl Pardini will lead a crew completing work on the roof at Mt. Tremper station, if this project has not been finished on Saturday.

Saturday, May 15th.

Earl Pardini led a crew that finished most trusswork on the new roof for the Mt. Tremper waiting area. Peter Fluchere, Mark Glaser and John Watson assisted.

George Peck led a crew including Dave Mason, Derek Stapleton, Paul Hintz, Al Schoessow and Bob Blake. They went down to 23.3 with the tamper and repaired the first of three slumps.

Sunday May 16th

On Sunday there were two crews working.

In Kingston, Earl Pardini led a crew consisting of Mark Glaser, Ron Epstein, Ed Winstanley, Bob Blake and Walt Otto. They completed the storage siding in the Cornell Street yard.

In Phoenicia, Earl Pardini also led a crew, starting late morning, doing additional work on 407. The crew included George Peck, PJ Hintz, Ernie Klopping, Al Schoessow and Steve Gollow.

In West Hurley, Paul Sternitzke and George Cook ran an OOS crew that cleared brush from the ROW from MP 9.4 to 9.8.

Monday, May 17th

Al Schoessow and Steve Gollow continued painting CMRR 407.

Tuesday, May 18th

Al Schoessow, Steve Gollow and Joe Logiudice took the 407 out and cut low-hanging brush.

George Peck will continue repairs at 23.3 on Sunday if they are not finished Saturday. He plans to leave Phoenicia yard with the tamper, gradall and work train about 9:30am.

On Saturday, we had four crews working.

In Phoenicia, Al Johnson, Bill Kaba and Terry W. worked on the end doors for the 702.

Also in Phoenicia, Joe Marsh, Earl Pardini and Dick Wilhelm worked on the hi-rail dump truck and the tamper.

On Sunday, we had three crews working.

In Kingston, Walt Otto continued working on flat car 278.

In Phoenicia, George Peck and Earl Pardini led a track crew that inserted 22 ties from Mt. Tremper to Campground Curve. The crew consisted of George Cook, Mark Glaser, Bob Blake, Ernie Klopping, John Prestopino and Steve Kijak.

Steve Gollow led a brush crew that cut overhanging trees and brush from Andrew's Lane to the Phoenicia yard. The crew included Paul Hintz, and Al Shoessow. They also mowed the grass in the Mt. Tremper station area.

Opening day for 2010!

The 702 crew will be working on Coach 702 starting at 10am.

George Peck and Earl Pardini plan to lead crews doing last minute work getting ready for the first train at 11am, both with trackwork and cleanup. Later in the day they will be inserting ties near MP 27.8. Everyone will meet in the Phoenicia yard at 9am.

No work crews will be working out of Kingston Saturday.

George Peck be at the Phoenicia yard at 10am. He plans to do tie replacements at MP 27.8

Saturday, May 29th.

Saturday was the first day of operations in Phoenicia.

Earl Pardini was engineer, who was also training Al Schoessow, John Patane and Dave Heick on the 407. The train was manned by Ray Farrell, Bill Kaba, Dan Howard and Bob McDonald. Peter Fluchere was ticket agent.

The 702 crew had a big turnout - George Liucci, Ernie Gehrer, Ed Palmatier, Al Johnson, and Gary Lowe. They installed the west end coach door and completed painting the roof.

Saturday, June 5th

The 702 crew will be working on Coach 702 starting at 10am.

Mike Lalonde and Joe Klapkowski plan to work on the 202 starting at 10am.

Paul Sternitke, Steve Gollow and I will lead a crew cutting overhead branches between West Hurley and Stony Hollow so the spray truck can pass. We will meet at West Hurley at 10am near the switch. Bring chain saws, pruners, and loppers.

No work crews will be working out of Kingston Saturday, as we will running in Kingston Saturday and Sunday for "Time Fest" from 1 to 4 pm.

Sunday, June 6th

George Peck be at the Phoenicia yard at 10am. He plans to do tie replacements at MP 27.8 if there is sufficient crew available.

Paul Sternitzke, Steve Gollow and I plan to return to West Hurley Sunday to complete work from West Hurley to Stony Hollow. Again we will meet at West Hurley near the switch at 10am.

Saturday, June 5th

The CMRR operated trains in Kingston and out of Phoenicia on both Saturday and Sunday. In Kingston it was for "Time Fest" and Phoenicia it was our normal operation.

The brush crew was organized by Steve Gollow. Steve was joined by Chris Bigham, George Cook, Paul Sternitzke and myself. We took 2 track cars and the work flat from West Hurley and cut high and wide enough for the spray truck to pass from Stony Hollow (MP 8.3) to the West Hurley Switch (MP 10.6). The line now is more open in this area than it has been for many years.

Saturday, June 12th

The CMRR will hold its first rules class of the year in Phoenicia in coach 702 from 9am to 5pm. Please attend if you wish to qualify for 2010. A second class is scheduled for July 11th for those who cannon make this class.

George Peck will be organizing a track work crew starting at the Phoenicia section house at 9am.

No work crews will be working out of Kingston Saturday.

Sunday, June 13th

George Peck be at the Phoenicia yard at 10am. He plans to do tie replacements at MP 27.8 if there is sufficient crew available.

Paul Sternitzke, Steve Gollow and I plan to return cut the line from C9 (MP 5) to 209 (MP 5.4) starting about 9am. Afterwards, we plan to go to West Hurley, inspect the line from MP 5.5 to 16 .2, and cut sections as necessary.

Cornell Street will open at 10am.

On Saturday, Dave Heick was engineer, and Ray Farrell and Dan Howard were train crew.

George Peck and Derek Stapleton worked on projects in the Phoenicia Yard.

The rest of the volunteers were in the CMRR's rules class in coach 702 in Phoenicia.

Sunday, June 13th

On Sunday, Paul Sternitzke and Steve Gollow led a brush crew that included George Cook, Todd Syska, John Patane, and myself. The crew cut brush from MP 5 to 5.4:

The crew moved to West Hurley after lunch, cut a large tree down at MP 8.2 and inspected the line from MP 6.55 to 16.2.

Cornell Street was open today. In addition to Earl, Al Schoessow, mark Glaser, Bob Blake and Walt Otto were present. From Mark Glaser:

"Ernie, On Sunday, Earl, Al Schoessow, and Mark Glaser removed the west-end wheel set on the open passenger flat [278] for spring pan repairs. Walt Otto continued installing railing arm rests on same while Bob Blake pushed along prepping RS-1 400 for primer. A portion of the yard was weed-whacked."

In Phoenicia, George Peck and Joe Marsh completed work on the hi-rail dump truck.

Tuesday, June 15th

On Tuesday June 15th, Al Howes and Mike LaLonde removed about 20 stumps from the future Shokan siding with the crane. Dick Ray also helped out.

Wednesday, June 16th

Steve Gollow, Paul Sternitzke and John Patane removed trees near C9 and cut trees near Beesmer Road.
