Was reading the "free" portion of the LASTA Yahoo site recently. There's mention of the group acquiring "the Bisso steam locomotive". Anyone know what this might be?

Also, LASTA is being evicted from its current home. Apparently some new locations are being considered that may allow for excursion operations. Maybe SP 2-8-2 #745 will get a chance to operate more frequently in the future!

sounds like the 0-6-0 in Louisianna at Bisso towboat company, Trinity and Brazos river #76. I wonder how close they are to getting it?

I was watching a video of this engine being moved on YouTube last night. I'm at work and can't go hunting the link, but it should be easy enough to find.

Our mechanical director volunteers down there several times a year. He told me that the ground they were on is being expanded for the nearby hospital (or was it a church? Damn memory!). They are moving back on the existing trackage to an open spot.
