I received the link to this blog of the Denver Post. These are color images from around the nation from before 1943. Some are depression, but many are railroad related, though not all. This will take you back to times when not everything was as good as we have it today. The C&NW caboose is worth the trip alone!

Many of these pictures were published in a book also called "Bound for Glory" in the early 2000s.
