There were at least three D&H cars on the Knox & Kane which were documented there in the past eight years. Can anyone comment on their continued existence or demise?

478

710

Thanks!

I believe I spotted the RPO/baggage car at the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia last month.

444 and 478 scrapped. As Wayne noted, the 710 is now in Durbin, WV. There were several other D&H cars at the Knox & Kane, most notably the wood coach that was heavily damaged in the Kane enginehouse fire, but also a couple of other head end cars.

The three other ex-D&H cars Alan mentioned were scrapped by the railroad at Marionville prior to the auction. I believe that the shell of the wood car was offered for sale not too long ago but don't know the outcome.

I am wondering too, what happened to the wooden car. I believe it was a Carbondale-Scranton commuter coach! Very rare, rebuilt into a business car. It was listed on Railswap for awhile.
