Just out of Curiosity, does anyone know of any other REA truck, trailer or boxcar (or a railroad box truck) needing restoration? I think it would be a fun little project.

Well, we're working on a 1945 REA delivery truck at Travel Town. Mechanically we're happy with it. Just trying to get it painted now.

Aaron asked about other REA trucks. The Northern Pacific Railway Museum in Toppenish, WA, has a 1941 Ford REA truck that we are slowly restoring. The engine has been completely rebuilt and is ready to install. The instrument panel has been sent out for restoration. The box is off the truck and will be sandblasted and painted soon. The fenders are off and the large tears and dents in them have been repaired by a local body shop. A NOS grill was found on Ebay and we will have it in the shop in a month or so for a winter project instead of hit and miss on various pieces. Volunteers are welcome to join in the effort.

Doug, Would like to see some photos of the 41 REA truck. I found another photo
of a REA truck at the NC Transportation Museum, Spencer NC, completely
restored and runable.

Checked the NP website and did not find any pictures.

Thanks

In regards to "other" trucks and the like still around... This likely is certainly a rare Fruehauf Central of Georgia motor transport trailer.... on the grounds of the Roundhouse Museum in Savannah... Can't be too many of these that survived....Photo taken a few months ago...

REA trailer in North Judson IN

Kentucky Trailer
Kentucky Manufacturing Company
Citway Co INC Owner
Louisville KY
Serial 29288

The ad panels on the sides I believe were not painted. Were ads pasted on
the sides and then changed out every so often. What ads were on the
sides of the trailers. I've seen Lucky Strike, Camels, what else. Where can
these ads be purchased?

More grinding on the sides was completed yesterday. I did get a chance to
look at the roof. Aluminum trailer paint is what is on now, thats what I will repaint
it.

Tom -

No date built? If not, perhaps someone can give us an idea as to when this type trailer was added to the REA fleet.
