Looking at the various news items regarding Frisco 1522, I'm noticing things like "after this season" and in todays brief, "after its remaining excursions this year". Now, the 1522 site doesn't mention any upcoming trips, but I have to wonder, is there anything in the works for this year? A farewell trip maybe?

I ran into a couple of the guys from the 1522 a week ago while doing the Ohio Central. I mentioned I hadn;'t seen them or the 1522 since 1990, and we talked about some good old days locations. They mentioned there was a trip in the works out of St. Louis, but not firmed-up yet.
So perhaps that will come to fruition. Like you I wondered if something would still happen this year, and I suspect the answer is yes. I spoke to them 3 days before this all hit the fan, so things may have changed. Best to wait and see what is announced I guess.

While I'm disappointed to hear this, I hope the 1522 will be stored serviceable should the situations causing this action change favorably in the future. Alas, this may the first of maybe a few (and hopefully a few) such announcements.
