I will echo the previous remarks on the work of Bernie.
I, too, had the pleasure of working with Bernie on the WW&F earlier this month.
To see the pattern for a driver he made was to witness the finest craftsmanship.

So how much track is there to move up and down on to work the bugs out, and is it connected to the outside world should it ever have the chance to somewhere?

The locomotive is on live rail, a siding adjacent to a Reading & Northern branch line which services a coal preparation plant. Since the railroad owns and operates a steam locomotive and has steam and diesel excursion service we are hoping that things can be worked out to test the locomotive. They definitely are steam friendly.

I would like to point out that I am only a minor grunt in the restoration of this locomotive. Most of the work I do is here at home, but I do have several thousand volunteer hours in her. There are about 10-15 guys who are doing the heavy on site grunt work and they are the ones who deserve the credit for getting this job done.
