San Pedro, CA/Extend waterfront line?

The line North with not be done for 10 year or better. The line South could to use if the bike path. This was a R.R. for Fort MacArthur to the Harbor Boulevard to Cabrillo Marina and 22nd St. The line then got East on the North side till is to the R.R at Marina Station. The people a Via Cabrillo Marina at the folk up 22nd a Pacific Ave would have a nice way show the town of San Pedro,CA a sub of L.A.
I live a 20th a Pacific Ave.

It is going to depend on the political will of the City of Los Angeles and its Harbor Department. The current line was built by the Harbor Department out of its port fee revenue and through the support of a former manager that wanted to redevelop the harbor front and honor the heritage of the Pacific Electric.

Under the present Harbor management the line has been cut back from from daily service to three days a week operation.

After the line initially opened there were various calls for the line to expand. The downtown merchants want it to expand that way. Others wanted it to extend south past the marinas toward Cabrillo Beach.

There is a need for a new cruise ship terminal. When one of the new Cunard ships arrived in LA on an around-the-world cruise it has to be towed backwards into the harbor and to the existing terminal as there is not enough space in the channel to turn it around as the smaller ships can do. Also some lines have moved to Port of Long Beach which is next door.

The way that I recommend is the this a part of (Cabrillo Beach Extension)

The only difference is to put back a portion of R.R. the to point of Via Cabrillo Marina an 22nd St. The Cabrillo Beach Extension go to Break water.

The City or Port of L.A. with own the land on the Bike path an the property from the East Side of 22nd with the Via Cabrillo Marina point to the Harbor Boulevard. The this make process easy but for politics.
