Was fooling around on YouTube again, and apparently there are "channels" on the service, in which some people set up multiple videos. One, called Poath Junction, based in Australia, has a bunch of vintage rail videos (largely old PR films). The link below takes you to the site, where all of these are in one place.

Enjoy.

Some more fun stuff from YouTube:

Third Avenue El:

The blizzard of 1952 on Donner Pass, which stranded the City of San Francisco:

A couple of British films, with more snow action:

Bleath Gill snow blockade in 1955, notable for showing how to get a frozen steam engine to move:

More poking around--a narrow gauge British route, closed in 1934:

Modern by my standards (1970), but fun--"Rush Hour:"

A concept for modern steam--the Southrn (of England) "Leader" class, under construction. This attempt at modern steam featured a number of unconventional design approaches, including a bi-directional body over a whole locomotive, mounted on what would be classed as C-C trucks with three-cylinder reciprocating engines, sleeve valves, and connections between axles with roller chains:

Some might consider the opening of this British Railway film a little cheesy, but the film still might be useful around a preservation road today; will have to see if some others in the series are available:

Enjoy,

Two bits on "Snowdrift at Bleath Gill".

Look carefully as the plough charges the drift about five minutes in: the clearance team sit on the fence to watch, and some of them are knocked over backwards by the flying snow.

One of the engines, 78018, is under restoration at Darlington.
