Yeah, I think the G5s in operation would draw out enough Pennsy fans to tip the economic scale just enough. The regular parents and kids, tourists would come to see steam, but the difference in a living, breathing, G5s could make enough of a difference in the bottom line. Do note, it isn't Strasburgs duty to secure the capital to continue refurbishing the G5s. That must come from direct funding through the RMLI. Donations marked for that specific purpose should go to them.

I was overseas in the eighties and missed seeing 7002 in action as well as K4 1361. All I can do is watch DVDs and wonder. I grew up going to the Strasburg and rode more times than I can remember behind 1223, but I wasn't a RAILFAN at that age. The Camelback was sidelined before I was old enough to know the difference. Even though the Reading may not have the following of the Pennsy, wouldn't the only operating and one of three camelbacks in the country draw some interest? A new chapter for the SRC sort of speak? (I'm not counting the RDG Inspection engine in St Louis).
