Found this photo, shot in 2009 pointed out on a freight car modeler's board. Wondering, given the decent condition it is in, if it's in preservation or not. No idea as to where, but I'd guess the East/Southeast. Caveat--the photo may have been posted in 2009 and actually be much older. Ideas?

The Rochester & Genesee Valley RR Museum has one ... though not restored.

Also, I believe there is one possibly at the RR Musuem of PA?

I believe you may find an article in Railroad Model Craftsmen from a year-or-two ago.

There is a beauty at RMPA. As a boy, in 1965, I rode the Seaboard's "Silver Star" to Florida, and recall watching scores of them being burned and scrapped, somewhere along the route. I used some excellent drawings from Modeltec Magazine as a basis to construct my 1/8th scale BAR potato reefer, two years back.

thought some members of the forum might enjoy seeing the FGE car at the Roundhouse museum in Savannah...

If memory is correct, this is the car that came from Altoona RR Memorial Musuem a few years back.

That image was NOT taken in 2009. Flickr has a thing where when you upload it lists the date you uploaded the image as the date it was taken until you change it. my guess is that was shot decades ago, and was uploaded without a correct date.

RR museum of PA has one see below.

Also, the Durbin & Greenbrier RR has one at Durbin, WV

Dean, you are correct. The reefer at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum in Savannah, GA did come from Altoona, back before Scott Cessna left. It was to be scrapped if it was not gone to another museum. After management at the Albany. GA museum decided to not get it, it did (thankfully) go to Savannah where they have done a nice job restoring it.
