Yes, it's a bit early for April 1 but it IS entertaining, isn't it? Reality is so subjective in this day and age it's like talking to a brick wall when you try to get a young techie to realize you can't believe everything you read on the net at first glance.

Evidently according to one of the original posters of this rumor on Facebook, they were duped by a young kid pretending to be the "curator" named "Veronica Smith," complete with a fake accent.

Unfortunately, in the day of the Internet, a prank can literally go viral, and end up on fairly credible sources of information, such as RYPN. Oh well.

whew, the rumors fly, and at some point I read Jay Leno was behind the 261 purchase, it actually makes sense you would do this incognito being a big star and he's a collector of cars which is well known.

anyways, back to the humdrum.

Obviously not true; but kinda would make sense. Leno already has several steam cars, then bought a stationary steam engine, then just recently a steam traction engine.

All he would need to buy is a steamboat and/or steam locomotive, and he would have collected the entire series....

I'll bet Jay could find something suitable a whole lot closer to home.
Maybe one of the Hudsons in the cave in the Mojave?

And the 1522 isn't for sale. Time for this thread to die peacefully.
