I just purchased the photo shown and was wondering a couple of things. Do any of you recall this car in Corde Madera, California in July of 1968? Also, does this car still exist somewhere?

I believe that this was a business trip by railroad officials but can not confirm it. I have seen other photos of the car in Clearfield, KY taken 1970 or so but can not confirm the disposition after the railroad filed for abandonment in 1972.

Any and all info is appreciated.

The car did spend serious time at Doug Morgan's private car repair site in Corde Madera well into the late 70's. If memory serves, when the site was closed down this car and a Burlington wooden business car were offered for donation to a local railroad museum but the donations were declined and I lost track of the equipment after that. I have slides some where.

Just curious...what color was the car? I realize there were many different paint schemes used on business cars, but this is obviously not Pullman green or the maroon/burgundy that seemed more common on this type car. Was it yellow with a silver roof?

Yes, the car was a lemon yellow with a silver roof. It faded badly and got worse with time.

I can confirm the color of the car was yellow with silver roof. The color matched the yellow on the railroad office pretty closely.

I just wish I could find out what the final dispositon of the car was after it came back to KY. If I find out, I will try to post the info for all.

Take a look at this Google earth view. The car sitting next to the large building is an eastern business car that was acquired from Doug Morgan.

Using street view, there also appears to be an interurban body and another car in the lot?

Ah, so that's where they ended up! I believe those are cars owned by the Petaluma Trolley group, restored Petaluma & Santa Rosa box motor 8 closer to the road and (I suspect) Northwestern Pacific trailer 201 beyond it.

I believe that P & SR #8 still belongs to Mr. Millerick and usually resides under a tarp in his boat yard. He does contract work on other rail cars in his yard from time to time. It would be hard to say exactly what cars are located there at any particular time.

Yes P&SR No.8 is owned by the Millerick brothers the other one behind is SF&NP #55 and later
converted to a electric trailer retired in 1934.

The steel car is B&O #100 Maryland.
I know this because I visited them late last year.
