There is nothing wrong with putting the idea out there and discussing (1) what would it take to make the idea more practical to build and more practical to run and maintain in the modern world, and (2) find out who is willing to support it or better yet what is the best way to gain serious levels of support. This is a good place for such discussions.

Perhaps Tornado was once a crackpot idea and a discussion that just would not go away. Let us be glad a heavy equipment guy in Illinois didn't come to the fan community to ask what people thought of him building a full-size 4-4-0 in his own workshop.
